Baptist partners with non-profit, charitable organizations in our communities that focus on improving the health and welfare of people in the community who have the greatest need and least access to health care.

ealth care is Baptist’s business, and our first priority is to provide high-quality care through our hospitals to the communities we serve throughout the Mid-South. However, we realize access to quality health care is difficult for many in our communities. We also recognize that we are in the unique position to improve the health of the communities we serve by dedicating our resources to health and human services causes and issues,
“Baptist has served as an integral partner in all that the American Heart Association does in the community. From our public educational events, health fairs, faith-based programs and standing committees, the entire Baptist system willingly donates their time, talent and treasure to ensure that we reach and educate thousands of our friends and neighbors.”
Donna Crawford, Director of Cultural Health Initiatives, American Heart Association
lending our expertise where we can make a difference. To accomplish this, Baptist partners with non-profit, charitable organizations in our communities that focus on improving the health and welfare of people in the community who have the greatest need and the least access to health care. We actively seek to support organizations with programs that focus on providing education and prevention information on our society’s most serious diseases.

Through these partnerships, Baptist has provided numerous blood pressure, glucose and cholesterol health screenings free of charge. In addition, annual community health fairs allow us to reach thousands of citizens with free diagnostic screenings that would otherwise be unavailable to them.

In 2004, Baptist colleagues conducted more than 20,000 free health screenings in our hospital communities where thousands of citizens were able to access diagnostic information such as blood pressure and body mass index. It is our hope that by arming the community with this valuable information, citizens can take charge of their health and prevent major illnesses.
