Derick Ziegler
administrator and chief executive officer
Derick Ziegler became administrator and CEO of Baptist Memphis in August 2010. Ziegler began his career with Baptist as CEO and administrator of Baptist Union City in August 2008. Before coming to Baptist, he spent 23 years in health care administration for the United States Army. He served as deputy commander for administration — a position equivalent to chief operating officer — of Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. Ziegler earned a Bachelor of Science in psychology and sociology from the University of Pittsburgh. He received a master’s degree in social work from the University of Pittsburgh and a master’s degree in health care administration from Baylor University in Waco, Texas.

Dana Dye
chief nursing officer
Dana Dye joined Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis as the chief nursing officer in July 2007. She came to Baptist from Renown Health in Nevada, where she served as chief nursing officer for the multihospital system. She also served as chief operating officer for the Regional Medical Center, Renown Health’s flagship facility. Before joining Renown Health, Dye served as regional CNO for Health Midwest in Kansas City, Missouri for 18 years.
Dye received her nursing degree from Westark Community College (now the University of Arkansas Fort Smith). She also holds a bachelor’s degree from Webster University and a master’s degree in public health from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. She began her career as a licensed practical nurse at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Medical Center.
She recently was named Northern Nevada Nurse Leader of the Year by the Nevada Hospital Association and also served on the Governor’s Commission for Health Care in Nevada.

Cyndi Pittman
chief financial officer
Cyndi Pittman is Baptist Memphis’ chief financial officer. Pittman is responsible for several departments, including materials management, patient financial services, patient registration, health information management, documentation review, financial planning and analysis. She also serves as the chief privacy officer and compliance officer for Baptist Memphis.
A Baptist employee since 1989, Pittman was the CFO for Baptist Memorial Hospital-Medical Center and worked in the finance department at Baptist’s corporate building before moving into her current role. She earned a master's degree in business administration from the University of Memphis.

Johnny Stanford
assistant administrator
Johnny Stanford is an assistant administrator for Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis. In this role, he supervises the hospital’s radiology, neurodiagnostics, pulmonology, audiology, respiratory therapy, and pharmacy departments. He is also system administrator of clinical integration for pharmacy, radiology, radiation therapy, laboratory and respiratory care services for all hospitals in the Baptist Memorial Health Care system.
Stanford came to Baptist Memphis from Baptist Union City in Union City, Tenn., where he served as director of radiology. He later became an assistant administrator at Baptist Union City and the system regional director for radiology for Baptist Memorial Health Care.

Lindsay Stencel
assistant administrator
As an assistant administrator at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis, Lindsay Stencel supervises the hospital’s radiation therapy, genetics counseling, stem cell transplant, tumor registry, rehabilitation, food & nutrition, safety and security, transportation and teleservices, as well as facility services and construction. She also leads the efforts for the hospital’s strategic planning for cancer services and the Baptist Centers for Cancer Care.
Stencel started her career at Baptist in 2002 as the director of rehabilitation services, and was promoted to assistant administrator in 2011. Stencel earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of Louisiana-Monroe and her Master’s of Business Administration from Union University.

Dr. Chris Patrick
chief medical officer
Dr. Chris Patrick is the chief medical officer for Baptist Memphis. Among his responsibilities are monitoring physician satisfaction, helping develop new physician leaders, supervising performance improvement programs and assisting with physician education. In addition, he oversees graduate medical education, quality, risk management and physician relations.
After receiving a Bachelor of Science degree with honors from Clemson University, he earned a Master of Science degree in immunology and microbiology as well as a Ph.D. from the Medical University of South Carolina. He then completed a two-year research postdoctoral fellowship at The Rockefeller University in New York City.
Dr. Patrick also earned his medical degree from MUSC and performed his pediatric residency at Children’s Medical Center, University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. Dr. Patrick then completed a pediatric infectious diseases fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. He is board certified in pediatric infectious diseases and has published three textbooks and more than 100 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters.
A former deputy chief medical officer and vice president for clinical services at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Dr. Patrick was the chief medical officer and senior vice president for medical & academic affairs at Miami Children’s Hospital before coming to Baptist Memphis.
