At the time of admission, patient or their representative are asked to confirm financial arrangements. If the patient has insurance, the policy, identification card, or other pertinent information is required. All Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance patients should bring their identification cards.

Most insurance companies now require preadmission certification and a second surgical opinion. It is the patient’s responsibility to know the preadmission requirements and their insurance coverage. The patient’s physician needs to be advised of these requirements. This process must be completed prior to the time of admission. If this has not been done in accordance with the policy’s requirements, the insurance benefits could be reduced or not approved.

As a courtesy, we accept verifiable third party coverage and assist in any way possible to expedite your claim. However, please remember that patiente are ultimately responsible for their accounts because an insurance policy is a contract between you and your insurance company. NEA Baptist is able to provide several payment and financial options to you.

Most hospital insurance plans do not provide full coverage for hospital bills. All bills are payable in full at the time of discharge unless financial arrangements have been made with the business office prior to discharge. At the time of the discharge, you will need to be prepared to pay the remaining estimated balance due after your verified insurance coverage or possibly select options we have to offer through NEA Baptist affiliations.

The business office files your claims for insurance assigned to the hospital. If a patient’s insurance company pays more than is estimated, a refund is after all the insurance payments are received. If an insurance payment is less than our estimate, you receive a bill for the amount due.

After you leave the hospital you may receive separate bills from:

  • The emergency room doctor
  • Anesthesiologist
  • Radiologist
  • Pathology fees (lab)
  • Other physicians who helped take care of you

If you have any questions about your insurance coverage or the methods available for paying your bill, please call the business office at 870-972-7413.
