Baptist Booneville supports the American Cancer Society Relay for Life.

The community where you work and live should be a place that meets your needs and the needs of your family. At Baptist Memorial Hospital-Booneville, we take pride in meeting the needs of the patients we serve, and we strive to take an active role in serving the community. It is through the continued support of this community that Baptist Booneville is able to provide outstanding care.
“As vice mayor of Booneville, I was very pleased to learn first hand how well our people are treated in our local hospital. My family received professional, compassionate care from the staff, and they made my family feel like we were part of the Baptist family. Please know that I am grateful for the good things that the people at Baptist Memorial Hospital do for our community.”
Bobby Goddard, Vice Mayor of Booneville

We are continuously making strides to enhance the services we offer. In 2004, we added a new in-house MRI machine and a new sleep lab to our services. A new general surgeon joined us in the Booneville community, as well.

We are committed to being a vital part of the Booneville community, and throughout the year we have supported various community organizations with our time, employee volunteers, sponsorships and donations. Just a few of the organizations we supported in 2004 include the American Cancer Society, March of Dimes, United Way, NAACP, Chamber of Commerce, Northeast Mississippi Community College, Mississippi State Extension Office and local area schools. At NEMCC, for example, we were able to contribute to students, faculty and the community by establishing a wellness center on campus.

The staff and physicians of Baptist Booneville work hard to make a difference in the lives of Booneville and Prentiss County residents, and this report highlights just a few of the community activities we supported in 2004.

“Words cannot express or adequately describe the outstanding care and compassion given to my wife and our family. The outstanding support and concern expressed toward my children and me was truly beyond measure.”
Allen Freese, Community Member
Fifteen Baptist colleagues served more than 100 cancer survivors at the 2004 American Cancer Society’s Cancer Survivor Dinner when the hospital hosted the event in June. Ten Baptist colleagues served 124 people at a free women’s health fair in April. In addition, Baptist provided free osteoporosis screenings for 330 women in Northeast Mississippi in 2004. And with the help of three local doctors, a dentist and a host of community volunteers, 24 Baptist Booneville colleagues conducted a free community health fair where they provided screenings, health information and goodies for 250 children and adults.

As part of the hospital’s goal to help people live healthier lives, Baptist Booneville began offering a free smoking cessation class in 2004 that has attracted overwhelming attendance.
