Expanding access to emergency care
As local community health care needs grow in DeSoto County, so does Baptist. In April 2017, Baptist DeSoto begins a new chapter with the planned expansion of its emergency department.
With this expansion, Baptist will invest $18 million into the local health care landscape to increase the size to 42,757 square feet of space, doubling the size of the emergency department in 2018. Baptist will renovate the existing waiting room and the nursing and diagnostic areas, and add more treatment rooms. Baptist DeSoto’s expanded emergency department will also house new, leading-edge diagnostic technology and lab equipment, all designed to deliver results faster leading to quicker diagnoses and treatments.
Opened in 1988, Baptist DeSoto continues to grow with the health care needs of northwest Mississippi residents, offering specialized care with proven quality outcomes.
